Samhain marks the end of the ‘light’ half of the year and the beginning of the ‘dark’ half of the year in the Celtic calendar. Halloween has its roots in this festival, though cultures throughout the world and throughout the ages have marked this transitional time with celebration and remembrance.
Our tassel wall hanging is a subtle way to decorate for the season with colours symbolic of the darkness, fire, seasonal changes and communication with the otherworldly.
Each wall hanging is sold fully assembled with 5 large tassels (33cm long) which we cut and fold to order, ready to hang from strong and invisible fishing line.
Can be hung black > yellow, or yellow > black – the choice is up to you!
All tissue paper used is acid-free, lignin free and ph neutral – meaning its good for the environment, non-yellowing and won’t get brittle!
All wall hangings use sanded, oak dowels which are FSC and PEFC certified.
Item is 35cm wide and approx. 55cm long (from apex of fishing line when hung)
Luxury handmade paper decorations designed, painted, cut & stitched by us in our studio in Glasgow, Scotland.
